Barcamp Antwerp March 6th live from Seattle!

Past months I have been missing out on interesting events in Belgium but this time I'll be there! At least, remotely. Yes, you are right, I'll be giving a presentation on Barcamp Antwerp on March 6th. With the technical support of tech45.be I'll be able to see the audience in Belgium, and they'll see me and my presentation. At least if Murphy allows us to :) Still need to figure out how I can broadcast my slides and have my head somewhere on there but I guess that won't be too hard.

There is so much to tell so I would like to hear which topic you like most:

  1. How to get started in US. I will tell you how to get a Green card, what paperwork is involved, how to start a company in US, how long all this takes and costs.
  2. Money in US. I will tell you how credit in US works, how to build up a credit score and point you the differences between banking in US versus Europe.
  3. Soft innovations in US. I will show you some interesting soft innovations in the daily American life and great examples of customer service.
  4. Zendorse.com. What I've learned from working at a startup in Seattle. By March 6th our application should be live.

Feel free to suggest other topics!

Printing on both sides of receipt

When I came back from PCC today I noticed my receipt was cut off at the bottom. When I flipped it I found the missing part on the back. Now that's what I call a nice soft innovation! Belgium does its best saving the environment by not handing out plastic bags in grocery stores since a couple of years. A decision Seattlists rejected some months ago. In contrast stores like Carrefour print receipts that are longer than my roll of toilet paper. The question is, what is most effective, saving on plastic bags or saving on receipt paper. What do you think?

Need to develop a breakfast habit!

I need to develop a breakfast habit, it's 11h13 already and I haven't eaten yet! Let me go to PCC, grab something to eat and take ingredients with me to make pizza for dinner tonight. Brie has been cooking already a few times, it's time to show off my (limited) cooking skills! Hope I can get some bus tickets as well cause don't want to keep collecting quarters for that.
